FAQ

Is Coolcut really free?

Yes. There are no subscriptions, no locked tools and no watermark on exports.

Do I need an account?

No. Coolcut has no sign-in and no servers. Projects are saved on your iPhone.

Where are my projects stored?

In Coolcut's own storage on your iPhone. When you import a clip, Coolcut keeps a copy, so the edit keeps working if you delete the original from Photos. Deleting a project, or the app, removes those copies.

How do I trim, split or reorder clips?

Tap a clip on the timeline to select it, then drag the mint handles to trim. Move the playhead and tap Split to cut. Press and hold a clip, then drag it to reorder. Pinch the timeline to zoom.

How do I add a transition?

Tap the small round joint between two clips. Pick from 20 transitions in four groups (fades, motion, reveals and camera moves), set the length, or use it on every cut.

What export settings should I use?

1080p at 30 fps with “Recommended” quality suits most social posts. Pick 4K or 60 fps for footage shot that way. Coolcut shows the size and bitrate before you export.

Export says Photos access is off.

Open Settings → Coolcut → Photos and allow adding photos, or use Share to send the video somewhere else.

Which music files work?

Files you can pick in the Files app: m4a, mp3, wav and aiff. Music bought with copy protection can't be imported.
